As a 52-year-old Transgender woman of color, I have faced and overcome numerous challenges in a hostile environment, albeit consumed by racism and transphobia. And because of the weight of those experiences and the profound spiritual growth that came out of them, I am firmly convinced that my God-given purpose on this earth is to promote equality in all of its forms, demonstrate love in the most difficult of circumstances, and be a beacon of hope and light for those that cower in the darkness, through the universal power of prose. I take this charge seriously, and I am forever grateful for it. After publishing my first body of work in 2022, a literary critic described their experience with Flight, and that review and the reception I received from the ordinary lay reader had such an impact on how I perceived myself as a writer, a fellow human being, and a child of God. Through the therapeutic process of writing, I discovered that the strength I needed to move forward in life was buried underneath the tombstones of my past.

I have over 25 years of clinical experience as a nurse, and more specifically am a subject matter expert in the field of HIV care and prevent. I am currently the HIV Care Services Clinical Coordinator with a State Health Department’s AIDS Drug Assistance Programs. I am also certified as a Trans Health Equity Consultant.
I am also an out transgender fashion model whose work can be appreciated on the runway, as well as published publications.
